Satellite
navigation systems are an extremely useful development in modern technology
that allows a small electronic device to determine its exact location through
satellite. Once, it knows its location, it is very easy for device to calculate
accurate measurements of navigation information such as roads, directions,
turns etc.
Navigation
systems are used my army vehicles, boaters, surveyors, outdoor men and many
others. Now, many vehicles come with the navigation systems already installed
in them. There are a lot of navigation systems working at this time all over
the world.
One of them
is the Global Navigation system or GPS of United States and contains around 24
to 30 satellites in its orbit. Initially this was used for the military purpose
and used for the detective purposes of the areas of the enemy. Short after its
evolution, it was available for the civilian purposes as the reason behind was
to transfer the ease in their daily routine life.
Russia has
also its navigation system with name of GLONASS, which is derived from Global
Navigation System. Now it is fully functional as it was launched in 1982, but
due to shortages of funds, it started working with the 12 satellites in its
orbit but now it is fully functional and gives its total output.
The European
Union is currently working on 2 navigation system, EGNOS, and consisted of 3
satellites in its orbit but from 2010 it is fully functional satellite
navigation system consisting 30 satellites in its orbits, that are competing
with the GPS of United States and provide more accurate calculations of
positions throughout the world. Several other countries have their navigation
system but they are not of the caliber of GPS, GLONASS and EGNOS.

Whatever the
navigation system is available there, but the ultimate reason of all the navigation
systems same and that is, how to find the correct, shortest and accurate
calculation of the desired destination. For this purpose GM Navigation system
provides the best available roads to the drivers to save their time, fuel and
money.
